La iniciativa que cada año lleva a cabo el portal Escapada Rural este año ha batido récord de participación con 94.545 votos, duplicando el escrutinio del pasado 2019 que llevó a Santillana del Mar a la victoria. La capital se queda en Cantabria por segundo año consecutivo.

The region of Liébana has become one of the most important regions in Cantabria in terms of gastronomy thanks to its climate and fertile land. Here we find vineyards that produce excellent wines, in addition to its universal orujo (grapes liquour), which can be found in different flavours. There are plenty of fruits and vegetables giving rise to the popular cocido lebaniego, a chickpea-based stew mixed with vegetables and typical meats of the region.

The itinerary of this route begins and ends in the village of Mogrovejo, in the heart of the Camaleño Valley. The medieval tower and the traditional building of the old school, converted into a museum of the rural school, are two essential visits that stand out due to its careful architecture.
